There are four basic types of Spinach :)

Flat-leaf: This type of spinach has smooth, spade-shaped leaves that have a lightly sweet flavor. They are the easiest kind to clean and prepare. While they are most commonly eaten in salads, try using them in a nutrient packed Spinach Smoothie for an on-the-go snack!

Savoy: Savoy spinach is characterized by its deep green, thick, and crinkled leaves. They have a more bitter taste and crisp texture, making them ideal for cooking. Use them while making a Mushroom and Spinach Tart.

Semi-Savoy: Like savoy, semi-savoy has partially straight leaves and less crinkle They are crisp and tender, which makes them great for cooking too! This type of spinach would be perfect in a Spinach Pesto Pasta because of their thick, but smooth leaf.

Red-leaf: This spinach gets its name from the maroon veins that run through the dark green leaves. Its earthier flavor is perfect addition to a hearty soup.
