WHAT TO USE FIRST
DID YOU KNOW: Kale
Green juice and baby kale salads may seem like a modern sensation, but the crop itself is at least 2,000 years old. Ancient Greeks grew the stuff, writings from the pre-Christian Roman Empire mention kale-like cabbages, and the earliest American record is dated 1669.
- Kale - you want to eat your greens when they are at their darkest color, especially kale, you will always get the maximum benefit
- Tomatoes - ripe, 1 to 5 days pantry and 5 to 7 refrigerator
- Cabbage - up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator crisper drawer
- Winter Squash - store in a cool dry place for up to 1 month
- Potatoes - 3 to 5 weeks in the pantry, 3 to 4 months in the refrigerator
