ALERTS PROGRAM ENDS NEXT WEEK Next week, Saturday - March 27th is the last pickup day for The Winter Table Program (we know, it's sad, but our CSA begins in June!) PLEASE RETURN YOUR TOTE BAG If you would kindly return it on the next pickup date we will sanitize it and issue you another :) DID YOU KNOW There are four basic types of Spinach :) Flat-leaf: This type of spinach has smooth, spade-shaped leaves that have a lightly sweet flavor. They are the easiest kind to clean and prepare. While they are most commonly eaten in salads, try using them in a nutrient packed Spinach Smoothie for an on-the-go snack! Savoy: Savoy spinach is characterized by its deep green, thick, and crinkled leaves. They have a more bitter taste and crisp texture, making them ideal for cooking. Use them while making a Mushroom and Spinach Tart. Semi-Savoy: Like savoy, semi-savoy has partially straight leaves and less crinkle They are crisp and tender, which makes them great for cooking too! This type of spinach would be perfect in a Spinach Pesto Pasta because of their thick, but smooth leaf. Red-leaf: This spinach gets its name from the maroon veins that run through the dark green leaves. Its earthier flavor is perfect addition to a hearty soup.
